About 1.400 employees work at Walraven worldwide. Walraven was established in 1942. The company was founded by Emma and Jan van Walraven. Jobdescription Group Legal Counsel Walraven
The Group Legal Counsel is at group level accountable for the portfolios Legal, Compliance and Governance. The Legal Counsel is accountable for (a.o.) translating the Group strategy into a legal structure, you will pro-actively connect with the regions, holding management and key stakeholders to understand, support and manage on (complex) legal procedures. Ensuring legal/compliance/governance processes are maintained and embedded in the organization;
ensuring governance is in place by setting, documenting and monitoring formal rules and processes for leading and controlling Walraven.
Develop training for the organization to increase knowledge on legislation and governance to ensure compliance, create legal awareness!
The Legal Counsel reports directly to the CFO and is part of the Finance & reporting department in the Group Holding. You will work closely together with Group and Regional Management, Sales and Manufacturing entities, Support functions (Finance, HR, Facilities, PMO), Key Suppliers and other relevant stakeholders. And of course with notaries and legal advisors.
You also act as Secretary of the STAK, Supervisory Board and Shareholder meetings.

Need to have and nice to have Group Legal Counsel Walraven
You have a Dutch Law degree with a minimum of 10 years experience in a Legal Counsel or related role, with international experience in an internationally operating manufacturing and sales environment. You have proven experience in managing of complex legal procedures and strong organisational (structured/process management), analytical and financial skills. You are used to work in a cultural diverse working environment and able to adjust leadership styles as required. You are a real teamplayer, making the connection, a strong motivator, enthusiastic, positive, energetic.
As a legal counsel you are pragmatic, pro active, to the point and legalwise. As almost all contract are in English, and due to the fact that Walraven is a international company, you are fluent in English. Last but not least you have excellent communication and presentation skills.
